Recently, Germany issued a new information release notice stating that the terminal operator of the Port of Hamburg will implement new delivery restrictions on the CTB and CTT container terminals in the Port of Hamburg from March 17 local time.
The new regulations may cause delays in container delivery. According to the notice, starting from March 17, the delivery of export goods needs to be arranged according to the arrival and departure time of the ship.
Industry insiders pointed out that the impacts of the new regulations may be as follows:
Delivery delays: Due to the short delivery time (usually 1 to 2 days) and the need to book in advance, this will lead to delivery delays.
Ship delays: If the ship is delayed in arriving at the port, the delivery time needs to be adjusted accordingly, which will lead to delayed delivery of goods.
Increased difficulty in booking: The delivery period can only be booked after the ship is confirmed to be deliverable. Since this period is very popular, the delivery difficulty increases. It is recommended to arrange the loading date as close as possible to the arrival of the ship, so as to reduce the uncertainty caused by ship delays.
