Earlier the same day, following a call between the US President and Mexican President Zinbaum, the United States and Mexico agreed to halt tariff increments for one month to proceed with negotiations. Mexico will deploy 10,000 National Guard troops to bolster the northern border patrol. The United States has pledged to prevent the smuggling of high-powered weapons into Mexico, with joint teams from both nations commencing work on the same day.
