According to news reports, the Peruvian National Emergency Operations Center issued a report saying that abnormal waves have appeared in the central and northern Pacific coastal areas of Peru in recent days, causing seawater backflow and other disasters. 91 ports have been forced to close, and about 20 fishermen are trapped on fishing boats at sea, waiting for military rescue. Several coastal towns continue to be hit by huge waves, causing damage to ships, flooding beaches and urban areas, and seriously affecting the lives of local residents. The Peruvian Navy expects this abnormal wave phenomenon to continue until early January 2025.
